Terms & Conditions
Terms of Service & Licensing Agreement
1. Licensing Model
Access to Word Dodge is provided to educational institutions under two components:
- Annual School Retainer: Gives the school institutional access to the Word Dodge Learning Platform, software updates, and ongoing platform maintenance.
- Per-Student Tenure Tokens: Student access is licensed on a “One Token = One Student” basis. A token grants an individual pupil access for their full duration at secondary school. Tokens are non-transferable once assigned to a student.
2. Intellectual Property & System Access
All rights, title, and interest in Word Dodge—including the WD Read and WD Keyboard applications, curriculum frameworks, video lessons, digital learning resources, quizzes, and assignments—remain the exclusive property of Workaround Literacy Ltd.
- Platform Access: The Word Dodge Learning Platform is delivered via a web browser, granting authorized pupils access to view video lessons, complete quizzes, and use digital resources solely in connection with their school work and assigned learning tasks.
- App Deployment: Proprietary applications (WD Read and WD Keyboard) are licensed for installation on school-managed Android devices used by authorized pupils.
3. Account Administration
The school is responsible for issuing, maintaining, and removing user credentials on the Word Dodge Learning Platform, ensuring access is restricted to authorized pupils and staff.
4. Limitation of Liability & Service Availability
- Service Availability & Network Downtime: The Word Dodge Learning Platform and applications are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Workaround Literacy Ltd is not liable for service interruptions, lesson delays, or hardware incompatibilities caused by school Wi-Fi outages, local network failures, or third-party operating system (Android) updates.
- Data Loss & Student Content: Because all student work, files, and media are saved directly to the school’s cloud storage ecosystem, Workaround Literacy Ltd assumes zero liability for lost, corrupted, or deleted student work.
- Exclusion of Consequential Loss: To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, Workaround Literacy Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, special, or consequential loss, including claims related to lost teaching time or educational attainment.
- Financial Cap on Liability: Workaround Literacy Ltd’s total liability for any direct claim arising under this agreement shall not exceed the total annual retainer fee paid by the school to Workaround Literacy Ltd in the 12 months preceding the claim.
